The Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Applied Data Science & AI (PGCP DSAI) by IIT Roorkee is designed to help working professionals build strong foundations in data science and AI while developing hands-on proficiency in modern analytical tools and techniques.
The programme focuses on translating data into actionable business and operational intelligence, enabling participants to confidently apply analytics and AI across real-world contexts.

Participants with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from any recognized university in any discipline with 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply to the programme.
Work experience of one year is preferable after completion of the qualifying degree.
Participants will submit personal details, educational qualification documents, resume, and statement of purpose.
Selection to the programme will be made after scrutiny of the overall profile. Interviews may be conducted for certain applicants.
Selection will continue on a rolling basis.

Working professionals in managerial positions who want to upskill by learning the concepts of data science and artificial intelligence in a practical-oriented manner, and to understand how these concepts can be applied in different business and industry contexts.
This module covers the basic requirements to understand concepts in data science and to do practical data science. Essential mathematics and statistics are covered in detail, forming a good foundation for all concepts in subsequent modules.

Where do you begin with a new dataset in hand? Here, you will learn how to conduct such an exploratory analysis. You will familiarize yourself with different techniques for data preprocessing, feature engineering, and advanced visualizations. The next part of the module covers various AI models (machine learning, deep learning, generative AI) for performing supervised tasks (predictions) and unsupervised tasks (finding hidden patterns in datasets). Recent years have seen a rise in the volume and velocity of data. Essential concepts and tools involved in handling AI models for massive datasets are also covered.
